September in Albuquerque brings a change of pace and some of my favorite parts of living in New Mexico. Cooler mornings, Friday night football, the New Mexico State Fair, the smell of green chile roasting, and the first hints of fall make this a special time of year. As families settle back into school-year routines and we head into a new season, September is also a great time to make sure your insurance coverage is keeping up with life. Whether you’ve added a new driver, made improvements to your home, experienced a change in your family, or simply haven’t reviewed your coverage in a while, our team is here to help make sure you’re prepared for what comes next.

I’m Kathlein Guinn, and I’m honored to serve the community that has always been home to me. As a lifelong Albuquerque resident, I understand the values, traditions, and unique needs of New Mexico families because I share them myself. This city and the people in it have played a major role in shaping who I am, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back by helping protect what matters most to the families and businesses I serve.

I’m also excited to share that I am now licensed to serve customers in Texas! Expanding into Texas gives our agency the opportunity to help even more individuals and families with their insurance needs while continuing to provide the personal service and relationships our office is built around. Whether you call New Mexico home, have family in Texas, are making a move between the two states, or simply need a resource you can call, my team and I would be happy to help.

Family is at the center of everything I do. My husband and I have been building our life together since 2012, and we are proud parents to our two amazing daughters, ages 11 and 6. They keep us busy, keep us laughing, and serve as a daily reminder of why protecting the people and things we love is so important. If you stop by the office, there’s a good chance you may see them visiting and helping brighten everyone’s day.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of New Mexico—Go Lobos! After spending more than a decade helping customers through the State Farm family, opening my own agency was the natural next step in a career built around service, relationships, and helping others prepare for life’s unexpected moments. Being a State Farm agent allows me to combine my passion for people with my commitment to protecting the dreams and goals they’ve worked so hard to achieve.

Our office is proud to provide personalized support for a full range of insurance needs, including Auto, Home, Life, Health, and Business coverage. We know insurance isn’t one-size-fits-all, which is why my team takes the time to understand your unique situation and create protection plans that fit your life, your family, and your future.

What matters most to us is building lasting relationships with the people we serve. We believe in clear communication, honest conversations, and being there when our customers need us most—not just when they purchase a policy, but throughout every stage of life. Whether you’re buying your first home, growing your family, starting a business, or preparing for retirement, we’re here to help you navigate those milestones with confidence.

I love being involved in our local community and connecting with the incredible people who make Albuquerque and New Mexico such special places to call home. And now that I’m licensed in Texas, I’m excited to bring that same relationship-focused approach and personalized service to individuals and families there as well.

Whether you’re in New Mexico or Texas, new to the area, considering your insurance options, or simply looking for a team that truly cares, we would love the opportunity to earn your business and become your trusted insurance resource for years to come.

Stop by the office, give us a call, send a text, or reach out online—we’re always happy to help and look forward to meeting you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What's an effective way to get car insurance quotes? A: Getting car insurance quotes is simple—you can start online, over the phone, or by working with a local agent. Quotes are typically based on factors like your vehicle, driving history, and coverage preferences, helping you explore options that fit your needs. Kathlein works with customers in New Mexico and Texas to help find coverage that fits.

Q: How fast can I get car insurance? A: Car insurance coverage can often start the same day, depending on your situation. For personalized coverage, reach out to Kathlein and her team.

Q: What kind of insurance do I need for a leased vehicle? A: Leased vehicles typically require more coverage than the state minimums. In addition to liability insurance, leasing companies usually require comprehensive and collision coverage, and you may need to list the leasing company on your policy as an additional insured or loss payee. Connect with Kathlein for personalized insurance guidance.

Q: What is renters insurance? A: Renters insurance is a policy designed to help protect your personal belongings and provide liability coverage while you're renting a home or apartment. It focuses on your possessions and potential risks, rather than the building itself, which is typically covered by your landlord's policy. Kathlein and her team are here to help you understand your options.

Q: What should I know about life insurance? A: Life insurance is designed to help provide financial support to your loved ones if something happens to you. It can help cover expenses like daily living costs, debts, or future needs, depending on the type of policy and coverage you choose. Kathlein is here to help families in New Mexico and Texas explore coverage designed around their needs.

Q: What's typically covered by a homeowners insurance policy? A: Homeowners insurance can help protect your home, your personal belongings, and your finances. It typically includes coverage for the structure of your home, your belongings, liability protection, and additional living expenses if your home becomes uninhabitable due to a covered loss. Talk with Kathlein about your homeowners insurance options in New Mexico or Texas.
